Why not work AND start a business?
Prior to becoming a teacher, I ran the corporate America rat race of working 15-hour days that depleted me physically, mentally and emotionally but allowed me traveling abroad once a year and pay off debt. I accepted the trade-off of long hours because I felt being able to work hard and travel to an awesome place once a year was worth the payoff.
Something had to change.
I felt hopeless, cornered by desire and despair. At my parent’s advice, I decided to make the career change. Turns out I enjoy working with kids outside of my nieces and nephews. Who knew! I now found a fulfilling career.
Don’t get excited for me, just yet. There’s still the issue of that paycheck.
While my teacher salary met my needs, I still had to be cautious about how I spent my money especially if I wanted to travel.
I’ve always been entrepreneurial while working a fulltime job. One that is always full of ideas but with little execution. I finally had an idea that was like a whisper, then a deep longing until I took action.
I invested in a business coach.
I learned to let go of limiting beliefs, create and price products that would allow me to get back to my faith-filled adventures.
